At Rose Clinic, a West London based physiotherapy clinic in Kensington, we strive to provide you with the best physiotherapy services of the highest standards based on the most reliable scientific evidence.

We offer a range of different modalities in combination with other treatment methods including manual therapy, exercise and healthy lifestyle management. We are a London physiotherapist that can provide a number of treatments to ensure you are your fittest and healthiest self.

The modalities consist of shockwave therapy, electrotherapy and ultrasound therapy, etc. The physiotherapist will determine the best treatment for your condition depending on the initial assessment here in Holland Park Road, Kensington.

If for whatever reason, your injury or condition is not recovering with other treatment methods, we can treat your injury with the help of our Masterplus Shockwave Therapy.

The Masterplus Radial model is the newest shockwave model from Storz Medical, which brings great results for the treatment of chronic tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, shoulder calcification, muscle pain, amongst many other soft tissue injuries. Improvement can be seen in just four sessions.

The shockwave treatment method is clinically proven and backed up by scientific evidence. All major British health insurances, including Bupa, approve of the shockwave treatment method and cover the cost. Bupa covers shockwave therapy for the following conditions: shoulder calcification, plantar fasciitis, patellar tendonitis, proximal hamstring tendinopathy, achilles tendonitis and greater trochanteric pain syndrome. Radial shockwave can be used alone or alongside other treatment methods like manual therapy and exercise that we provide at the London physiotherapy clinic.

Shockwave therapy itself is a non-invasive treatment applied directly to the affected area, which uses an acoustic wave at high-energy frequency to minimise pain and restore normal mobility. Treatment is quick and easy, taking 15-20 minutes, and enables musculoskeletal pain to be managed effectively. Shockwave therapy is one of the best treatments in London.

The treatment positively regulates inflammation, increasing blood flow to encourage the healing process. It accelerates the regeneration and repair of tissues and stimulates collagen synthesis. It also works well to immediately reduce short-term pain.

During the treatment, a gel is applied to the skin before the head of the machine is passed over the affected area, sending impulses into the muscle below. The normal shock level is 2000-2500 impulses per session. There is minimal discomfort, no anaesthetic is required, and results can be seen almost instantly.

Several studies have proven the effectiveness of shockwave therapy. Malliaropoulos et al. (2016) recorded over a twelve-month period the decrease in plantar fasciopathy pain after the treatment, finding that after three months pain had decreased by 70%, and after twelve months, the pain had decreased by 98%. Thomson et al. (2005) also concluded from a meta-analysis of six randomised-controlled trials that shockwave therapy was a particularly powerful treatment for plantar heel pain.

Shockwave therapy is effective, inexpensive and safe. Here at Rose Clinic, a London physiotherapy clinic, we aim to do everything possible to ensure our patients leave us feeling positive and relieved of pain. Therefore, our Shockwave treatment is an excellent choice for those suffering with chronic conditions or people who have not seen improvement with traditional physiotherapy techniques.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy uses high-frequency sound waves to treat deep and superficial injuries. It reduces inflammation, pain and muscle spasms, and helps to promote healing. It’s a completely painless treatment, and works by stimulating blood circulation and relaxing the muscles. Ultrasound therapy can be used on a variety of different conditions, particularly tendonitis, bursitis, frozen shoulder, sport injuries and muscle aches.

Another modality that provides pain relief, encourages tissue healing and stimulates cell activity is electrotherapy. The treatment artificially activates muscles, which improves circulation and restores the body. The treatment is not uncomfortable, and can be used for nerve pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and to prevent muscle atrophy.

We are a London physiotherapy clinic based in Holland Park Road, Kensington, West London and we pride ourselves on our dedication to providing the best quality service possible.
